Six questions for your BC elections candidates

This is a critical election for climate and the environment in B.C.

After another summer of record-breaking drought and wildfires, protecting ecosystems and reducing climate-warming pollution is more important than ever.

If a liveable planet is important to you, ask candidates in your riding the following questions before you head to the polls on October 19:

  • Will you keep BC’s promise to protect 30 percent of lands, especially old growth and endangered ecosystems, by 2030?

  • Will you continue the work with First Nations to co-develop a law protecting biodiversity everywhere in BC?

  • Will you provide funds to support First Nations and forestry-dependent communities to move away from clearcut logging?

  • Will you stop approving new LNG and fossil fuel projects, and invest in renewable energy instead?

  • Will you commit to placing a cap on oil and gas emissions and ending fossil fuel subsidies?

  • Do you support DRIPA (Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act) and commit to ongoing implementation of the Act?
