50 Places Project: Sooke Hills

The Sooke Hills are located on southern Vancouver Island within the territories of the T’Sou-ke First Nation and the Scia’new First Nation, also known as Beecher Bay. The Nations have used the area for many thousands of years for spiritual, food, medicinal and other purposes.

Musings of an Environmental Educator

Growing up, I spent most of my time outside. I loved going for walks, swimming in rivers and lakes, camping, canoeing and sitting around a fire at night. Some of my best times were spent taking my dog for a walk in a big farmers’ field behind our house.
