Raised in Vancouver near the ocean and mountains, Roxanne developed a fondness for observing nature at a young age. She spent most of her summers split between the Rocky Mountains and coastal islands of BC, spending weekends on the slopes or hiking trails.
From her experience working in organizations aimed at sustainability and renewable energy, Roxanne grew ever more drawn to careers and organizations working to protect nature.
She made the leap from Vancouver to Victoria for a quieter life with a closer connection to community initiatives and remote wilderness access. She is currently working to complete a Diploma in Restoration of Natural Systems and her BSc in Marine Biology through the University of Victoria.
Roxanne brings marketing, communications, public relations, and sales experience to Sierra Club BC through her previous work as the Director of Marketing at GLOBE Series and the Manager of Marketing and Communications at the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association. She currently works closely with both our Development and Communications team on creating operational and marketing strategies.
Those who know her well are aware of her affinity to water adventures and love for the ocean. She can typically be found by the sea looking for creatures or in the forest enjoying conversations about plants and ecology. Roxanne actively volunteers with organizations in ecological restoration and biological surveying in her spare time – she likes to explore and be outside!
