Sara Schwartz is the Donor Services Assistant at Sierra Club BC. She studied Urban Forestry at the University of British Columbia, where she also completed a minor in Landscape and Recreation Planning. Her work and studies have taken her from urban forests and community gardens to researching bat ecology, environmental communications, and community-based conservation across Vancouver Island.

Sara has always been drawn to the people side of environmental work: building relationships, sharing knowledge, and helping people feel connected to the places they live. She is excited to bring that perspective to her work supporting Sierra Club BC’s donors and the community that makes its work possible.

Originally from Southern California, Sara has found a home on Vancouver Island, on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen peoples. Since moving to British Columbia, she has fallen in love with the landscapes that first drew her here and the endless ways to explore them, from mountain trails to coastal waters. The more time she spends in B.C., the more she wants to understand it, protect it, and help other people care about it too.

When she is not working, she is usually hiking, backpacking, kayaking, snowboarding, or looking for somewhere new to explore.
