Board Director

Kevin Eckford is a Biomedical Engineer and Medical Technology Entrepreneur who is currently on his first term as a Board Director for Sierra Club BC. Kevin grew up on the traditional and unceded territories of the Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish, and Musqueam Nations (North Vancouver) and has spent significant time throughout the Coast Salish communities.

He obtained his Masters in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London in the UK, and initially worked within research/academia. Upon returning to Canada, Kevin pursued medical device entrepreneurship and has spent the last 7 years working on the development of several medical technologies. Kevin serves as Director on the board of two tech companies, and has additional executive, management and financial experience. He is looking forward to putting these skills to use towards non-profit and environmental interests. 

While Kevin has a strong professional and personal passion in healthcare, there exists a natural intersection with environmentalism. His moral and personal passion extends into his long-held beliefs in championing environmental sustainability, preservation and advocacy. This has largely taken the form of individual and grassroots efforts, but he is excited about contributing in a more formal and organized manner with Sierra Club BC.
