Jen is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and visual storyteller creating emotive, impact-focused films at the intersection of climate action and human resilience. Grounded in thoughtful witnessing and journalistic ethics, she uses film and media to ignite contemplation and conversation around critical environmental issues.
Over the last 15 years, Jen has immersed herself in a range of projects as a director, producer, cinematographer, editor, and journalist. Her experience spans medium- to feature-length documentaries, broadcast news, educational campaigns, and short-form digital content. Jen’s work has screened at film festivals worldwide, in cinemas and classrooms across Canada, and has received multiple awards. She’s also participated in several film labs and mentorship programs, and holds an Honours Diploma in Radio and Television Arts from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, along with a Certificate in Entertainment Law from Osgoode Professional Development at York University.
Jen attributes her connection to the outdoors to her grandfather, who was an avid lover of the natural world. He inspired her to stay curious about the more-than-human, which led her to spend ample time among the old-growth forests of Vancouver Island. These formative experiences deepened her commitment to environmental storytelling.
As Videographer and Video Editor at Sierra Club BC, Jen aims to translate complex topics surrounding climate and the environment into thought-provoking stories that deepen awareness, inspire collective action, and encourage people to reflect on their relationship to B.C.’s most biodiverse and at-risk ecosystems.
