Raised in the forests and on the waters of the qathet region, Alex developed a deep appreciation for the natural world from a young age. Today, they live on the lands of the Lekwungen speaking peoples, where they completed an Honours English degree at the University of Victoria, spent six years working at a not-for-profit print shop, and expanded their understanding of community care through their frontline work at the public library. 

Alex is an avid reader with a broad range of interests from gender studies to waste systems, disability justice to medieval manuscripts. When they don’t have their nose in a book, they can often be found knitting, watching the birds in their backyard, or marvelling at the vast beauty of the ocean. 

As the Donor Services Assistant at Sierra Club BC, Alex looks forward to connecting with donors and action takers who share in Sierra Club BC’s vision of a healthy, life-sustaining planet.
