Kate is a facilitator of learning and aspiring conservation scientist with a soft spot for the occasional play or musical. Originally from Oakland California, she forged her connection with nature through the ferns and moss that cracked out of concrete sidewalks. Now, her passion lies in reigniting people’s love for nature from people’s backyards to ancient old growth. During her free time, you’ll often find Kate outdoors, whether she’s roller-skating, hiking, or immersed in a game of Dungeons and Dragons.
As a recent graduate from the University of British Columbia, she hopes to disseminate her newly acquired conservation knowledge with schools and youth as a member of the Education team. Kate’s professional journey has taken her through various roles at science museums, botanical gardens and at the University of British Columbia, where she discovered her passion for experiential learning and outdoor education. She is brimming with energy, excitement, and enthusiasm to continue her journey of learning and facilitation with Sierra Club BC.
