On July 29 we want to flood government officials’ social media feeds with the message: Save old-growth forests. Now.
Join the online day of action by taking to social media – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or any other platforms you’re loving these days – to encourage the BC government to implement an immediate moratorium on logging the last remaining old-growth with big, ancient trees.
To make life easy, we’ve put together a guide and resource list for how you can use your platform to speak up for forests.
How to join the social media day of action
Share what old-growth forests mean to you and why we should #SaveOldGrowth! You could post a photo, video, art or poem to share your love of the woods. If you’re not sure what to post, we’ve made some shareable graphics that you can use too. Download unbranded social media graphics here.
Tag government officials as well as your friends, community leaders, celebrities and influencers – anyone you think should see this message! Find a list of suggested accounts to tag down below. Psst… don’t forget to tag us (@sierraclubbc) and use the hashtag #SaveOldGrowth so we can amplify your post!
We’ve put together a list of creative ways you can stand up for old-growth, from hosting community rallies to creating art to reading. Check out some examples of how you can use your gifts in our Forest Action Takers guide.
