Give stocks, bonds, mutual funds or other publicly traded securities

Making a gift of securities is one of the most effective ways to give charitably and support healthy ecosystems. By transferring securities to Sierra Club BC, you won’t pay any capital gains tax and will receive a charitable tax receipt for the full trading price on the day we receive it.

How to donate securities:

• Fill out our Share Transfer form.
• Send the form to your financial advisor and authorize them to initiate the transfer on your behalf.

• Once your donation has been received in our account, we will send you a tax receipt of the fair market value. Note that this process can take a few days.
