What can we help you with?

How can I make a donation?

You can donate in several ways:

  • Online: Visit our donation page for secure one-time or monthly giving. 
  • By phone: Call us at 250-386-5255 ext. 103 to donate over the phone. 
  • By mail: Send a cheque payable to:

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Sierra Club BC is a registered Canadian charity, registered charitable number: 11914 9797 RR0001. 

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Yes. Tax receipts are: 

  • Emailed immediately for online donations. 
  • Mailed for donations by cheque unless you request email delivery. 
  • Consolidated receipts for monthly donors are sent by February the following year. 
Is my gift secure?

Yes, your gift is secure. Sierra Club BC uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encrypted systems to protect your personal and financial information. Whether you donate online, by phone, or by mail, we follow industry best practices to ensure your data is handled safely and confidentially. You can read more about our Privacy Policy here. 

Can I become a monthly donor?

Absolutely. Monthly donations help provide a steady and reliable source of funding. Simply select “I would like to make this a recurring donation” to make a monthly gift. 

How do I update or cancel my monthly gift?

To update your credit card information, change the donation amount, or cancel your monthly gift, please contact us by emailing gifts@sierraclub.bc.ca or calling 250-386-5255 ext. 103. 

Can I donate in honour or memory of someone?

Yes. You can dedicate your gift to a loved one and, if you choose, we can send a personalized message to the honouree or their family. Simply select “in honour/memory” when making your donation. 

Do you accept legacy or planned gifts?

Yes. Leaving a gift in your will to Sierra Club BC is a powerful way to leave a legacy of healthy land and water for future generations. Visit our Legacy Giving page or contact us directly to learn how you can include Sierra Club BC in your estate planning. 

How is my donation used?

Your contribution helps protect old-growth forests, safeguard biodiversity and call for meaningful climate action. Read our annual reports and financial statements for more information on how we are driving impact with your gift.  

Can I remain anonymous?

Yes. Simply check the “anonymous” option when donating or contact us to request your gift remain private. 

Does Sierra Club BC share or trade my personal information with other organizations?

No. Sierra Club BC does not share, sell, or trade donor information with any other organizations. Our Privacy Policy has more details on how we protect and store your personal information.
