As part of the development team, Sue oversees our annual appeals and fundraising events and works with individual donors to ensure their needs are met. It’s a job that requires a Jill-of-all-trades and Sue fits that bill, bringing experience in customer service, event management, communications, systems development and office management to her position.
For much of her career Sue worked as a radio broadcaster starting in community radio and working as a reporter, assignment editor, producer and morning show host at CBC in Montreal and Victoria. Sue believes that an informed electorate is essential to a well-functioning democracy but journalistic ethics prevented her from working directly to effect change in the world. So Sue turned to the non-profit sector, working with adults with developmental disabilities before coming to Sierra Club BC.
In her spare time Sue is never happier than when she’s on a beach with her dog by her side and her camera to her eye.
