Simone is a British girl with a west coast heart. She moved to the beautiful city of Victoria in 2014 where she found a new love for the outdoors.
Simone moved back to London, England in 2015 to do an internship with an international development company. At that time she was working on climate change, energy and environmental projects that would work to protect places such as the Indonesian Rainforest and electrify developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. It was time spent doing these projects that guided her to want to mitigate climate change and take broader action in the transition toward renewable energy. Fast forward 6 months and she returned to Victoria, BC, where she started volunteering at Sierra Club BC.
After some time spent at Sierra Club BC and connecting people to Local Groups across British Columbia, she worked at an energy efficiency non-profit. Here she learnt that one of the most effective ways of combating climate change was to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, and homes in particular. Happy to be back at Sierra Club BC, she is part of the development team and plays a key role in exploring new ways to sustain one of the longest living environmental charities in the world!
In her free time, Simone can be found catching up with friends over a cup of tea (of course), exploring Victoria, and learning new songs on the guitar.
