Shirley Franklin is currently serving as the Treasurer on the Board.
Shirley has been a Certified Management Accountant CMA for 27 years. Her work history has included specializing in Operating and Capital Budget and Forecasting for companies such as the now City of Vaughan, Allergan International UK and Greater Victoria School District 61.
Seven years ago, Shirley took the leap as an entrepreneur and started her own business, Ducks in a Row BC Bookkeeping and work with a variety of clients maintaining their books up to year end working papers. She works with a number of Accountants in the Greater Victoria area to watch over the financial health of my clients.
Her work experience runs from the minute detail to the ‘big picture’ which has proven valuable in working with the Finance staff at Sierra Club BC – whether to help with a question on Simply Accounting to assisting with the development of spreadsheets or finding answers to procedure.
Shirley has been living in Victoria with her family for 19 years and loves the West Coast and Vancouver Island. She has particular interests in local and organic food and farming.
Shirley feels that we have a duty to safeguard our land and oceans for the future and hopes to be able to continue to play a part in Sierra Club BC’s work in these areas.
